
Wes Lockfaw, a native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore holds several degrees in sacred music. His passion for the music of the church led him first to Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina where he earned a degree in sacred music and music performance. After going on to continue his studies in sacred music at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, he earned a Masters of Sacred Music degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where he studied with Donald Hustad, John Dickson, Hugh McElrath, and Ronald Turner among others. Over the course of his career, he has directed comprehensive music programs in seven states, most recently in Easton, Maryland where he served for fourteen years the historic Christ Church in the diocese of Easton. Additionally, he directed a concert series that featured a host of national and international artists as well as serving as Artistic Director for the Easton Choral Arts Society since 2010. While in Easton, Mr. Lockfaw procured the charter for the Mid-Shore Maryland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists for which he served as Dean from 2014 through 2022. In October 2022, Mr. Lockfaw returned to North Carolina to assume the role of Traditional Music Director and Organist at Fayetteville’s Haymount United Methodist Church and was installed as Dean of the Fayetteville-Sandhills Chapter of the AGO the following year. In the fall of 2025, he will be joining the board of the Fayette Regional Board of the North Carolina Symphony.
