Carey Sleeman

Carey Sleeman is originally from Western New York and has over 10 years of teaching experience.
She started playing violin at the age of 7 and was very involved in her school orchestra and youth orchestra throughout middle and high school. Carey graduated and then attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam for both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education. She started her education career in Nyeri, Kenya teaching at a private school then moving on to the growing music scene of Nairobi. There she helped develop orchestra programs and players across the city. After returning to the United States she taught in Fairfax County Virginia and then in Fayetteville North Carolina. She now plays for the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and the Snyder Orchestra. She has two boys of her own and enjoys gardening, spending time outside, and spending time with her family.
Carey is a firm believer that anyone can learn something new at any age. She enjoys creating well rounded musicians and seeing their journey through the music learning process from beginner to master.
