Wendi Griffiths

An accomplished vocalist, accompanist, educator, and arts administrator, Wendi Griffiths (she/her/hers) actively seeks opportunities to mentor and advocate for students. She is currently the adjunct voice faculty member at UNC Pembroke and has worked as an accompanist and coach for the University of Utah Musical Theatre Department and the music department at Utah Valley University. Additionally, Wendi has accompanied various performances and masterclasses across the country. Her students have received superior ratings at state solo and ensemble festivals, won top awards at NATS competitions, and have successfully continued their studies in programs throughout the world.

Wendi has had an extensive performing career, both in choirs and as a solo singer. She sang and soloed with both the University of Utah A Cappella and Women’s Choir, as well as singing with the Tallahassee Community Chorus. Opera credits include the title role in the opera Amahl and the Night Visitors, Fan in the World Premier of Leavitt and Buck’s A Christmas Carol, and Belle in the same opera the following year. Some of her favorite musical theatre performances include The Secret Garden, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Big River. She has also served behind the scenes in many production roles, including musical director.

Wendi is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), where she served on the Northern Utah Chapter board and in 2018, served as Volunteer Coordinator for the Cal-Western Regional NATS Auditions. She also founded and served as President of the Student NATS chapter at the University of Utah and has served on the board of the Tallahassee Community Chorus. Wendi holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah, a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Political Science from Weber State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration, with an emphasis in Music from Florida State University.
