Ashlee is a graduating senior studying percussion performance at Methodist University with Dr. Daniel McCloud. She enjoys performing and teaching, and is dedicated to finding ways to improve her approach to music in as many ways as possible. Ashlee has several years of experience teaching, both in group settings and individually, and her passion for percussion started with listening to her mother play drum set along to music on the radio. Since then, she has participated in several band and orchestral ensembles, including the Fayetteville Symphonic Band, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Haymount UMC’s traditional worship orchestra, and Snyder MBC’s very own worship orchestra. Ashlee was recently awarded the Willis C Gates Music Award for Excellence in Performance by the music faculty at Methodist University.
Ashlee’s teaching experience includes teaching school-aged children in private lessons, as well as being the Percussion Instructor at Midway High School for several years. She has experience teaching orchestral percussion, marching percussion, and drum set. She enjoys helping her students explore the possibilities with rhythm, as well as introducing them to instruments they may have never encountered.
